​'The Purple Elephant Project is a children’s mental health charity based in Twickenham, dedicated to providing a compassionate, safe space for children and their families to navigate emotional challenges. We support more than 330 families and deliver over 4,300 therapy sessions a year, and provide outreach in over 35 schools in Richmond, Hounslow and the surrounding boroughs. Using creative art therapies, we help children as young as four, to explore, express and process difficult life events, emotions and trauma, without the need for words. Many of the children we support have often endured immense trauma, instability and loss in their lives. Our therapists help them rebuild trust, confidence and develop the emotional resilience and coping skills to thrive. At the heart of our work is the belief that every child deserves to be heard and to we create an environment where children and their families feel accepted, valued and understood.'
